Motorcycle MOT Testing

Pick up service
If it makes life easier, we can arrange to come and collect your car from you and return it once any work has been completed. This is a complimentary service for local customers in Middlesbrough/Ingleby Barwick.
Servicing and Repairs
We service all makes and models of cars from a simple oil service to a full service. We can also carry out any other repairs you may need. Our servicing does not affect your warranty.
MOT Testing
The MOT Test is carried out to ensure your vehicle meets minimum road safety standards. It will be carried out by a Vehicle Inspectorate approved tester.
MoT Testing may be carried out up to a month before the expiry date of your current MoT certificate. Don’t worry if you can’t find your old certificate, our computer will automatically add the remaining days to your new test certificate. MoT testing may be viewed from the MoT viewing/reception area or why not nip to the café next door for a full English breakfast or just a nice cuppa while you wait!
Important note: An MoT certificate relates only to the condition of the testable items at the time of the test.
Air Conditioning (A/C)
Car air conditioning systems need regular servicing due to the natural porosity of the hoses and components used in modern vehicles. The refrigerant will leak slowly out of the a/c system at a rate of up to 20% per year making your system gradually less efficient until it finally stops working altogether.
If you let your air conditioning system run out of refrigerant or don’t use the system for several months the internal seals may dry out leading to possible compressor seizure.
Most manufacturers recommend that you have your air conditioning system serviced and re-gassed every 18-24 months in order to keep the system working efficiently. Your air conditioning system should also be used during the winter to help demist your windows (A/C systems work on hot and cold settings)

Timing Belts
Replacing Cambelts can be a complex job, requiring specialist knowledge and technical information. At Acorn Auto Services we have the experience to provide a full cambelt replacement service.
It is vital to replace cambelts at manufacturer recommended intervals. If the cambelt is not replaced when recommended it may fail. In most cases this will cause extensive damage to the engine.
Brakes
Brakes are a critical safety feature of you car and, as such, regular brake checks and maintenance are imperative. These checks can also help to reduce the possibility of more costly repairs being required in the future. Acorn Auto Services only fit brake components made to original equipment standards.
All brake parts are guaranteed for 12 months or 12000 miles.

Brake upgrades
We supply and fit EBC brake components.
EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads create less dust and the dust they do produce is more easily washed off your alloys. They are designed for premium street driving, offering better brake effect up to 600*c. EBC Green Stuff has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from the first application of the brake pedal.

We are able to repair/replace most starters and alternators.
Alarms and immobilisers
We supply and fit Laserline alarm and immobiliser systems.
We offer a mobile service to by-pass your faulty alarm/immobiliser and get you going again.
